About

Our Mission

The mission of the IDEA Committee is to promote the values of inclusivity, diversity, equity through action that fosters the broadest expressions within our practice–an ever expanding musical culture to honor the individuals of the Penn State School of Music.

The aims of this committee are broad and meant to refer to the ways our people and the works they produce are wide-ranging and innovative: We wish to promote a supportive environment where new ideas are fostered and promoted, and all our people are leaders in elevating under-represented voices in 21st-century music-making. We wish to 1) Highlight, 2) Promote, and 3) Support inclusive activities of the diverse people of the Penn State School of Music.
